The central premise of "Unannounced" revolves around the idea that the presence or absence of voices can be a defining factor in our connection to various communities and our participation in sociopolitical life. It particularly delves into the experiences of marginalised individuals who have been historically silenced and excluded from mainstream discourse. Starting in the 60s of the last century, social movements have highlighted the importance of listening to and acknowledging these marginalised voices, fostering the potential for change and resistance against established norms.

"Unannounced" showcases how these "other voices of silence" serve as catalysts for transformation, awakening us from complacency and inspiring us to envision a different, more inclusive world beyond the confines of the status quo. Each artist explores themes of absence, silence, resistance, and situatedness in our collective existence as human beings. Through various artistic media and forms, they engage in a dialogue that encourages viewers to reconsider their role in sociopolitical life and reflect on the myriad voices that shape our shared reality.
