The sensuality and romance of seduction manifested in her artworks through Li Hei Di’s fluent intricate strokes, and the mating dance of colours atop her medium. They mimic the historical occurrence of that time period, where the working women in Qing Lou were not prostitutes, and have more than transactional sexual relationships with their clients based on knowledge, rather than wealth or power. As a whole, this artistic exploration of this interest may serve as a temporary getaway from the very different reality of delicate restrictions or repressions of the level of openness she would like to embody in her everyday identity. A level where the details of subtle sexuality that is well-woven in the little mundane everyday moments, is celebrated instead.
Like nothing else in the universe, Chinese artist Li Hei Di expresses the often repressed senses of raw human desires in her pieces. Li Hei Di translated the everpresent longings and attempts to understand the most primal human desire and emotions, into elusive marks that transform between abstraction and figuration.
