The works in this collection are mostly inspired by architecture and pop culture from the 1980s era, exploring the use of fabrics and cartoons with shapes, lines, contrast and texture. In the past few years IRSKIY finds himself more drawn to making collages that have minimal look and feel which is quite interesting because it forces him out of my comfort zone; to be less spontaneous and more strategic with his decision making.
Like nothing else in the universe, artist Kris Sutardjo—or more popularly known as IRSKIY, distinctly coagulate abstraction and figuration into his works through texture, colour and composition experimentations, to obtain elements of surprise on each piece; Which discovery truly exhilarate him and his audience, and had become addicting, too.
