From the past, IRSKIY often notes and observe specific features in architecture and historical events along with the cultural artefacts that were born out of that history—with a specific recent interest in the 1980s. From the present, he is well aware of popular culture and the media products of his interests in movies, music, and cartoons. On top of exploring the different eras and the contextual discourses it may present, IRSKIY also dabbled in the usage of different fabrics, shapes, lines, contrasts, textures, and at times cartoons.

The past and the present further coagulates in IRSKIY’s medium and pieces, to co-exist with multilayered context and subjectivities that creates a whole new world. The usage of fabrics, shapes, lines, contrasts, and textures, along with cartoons in his more recent work was inspired by the 1980s. These explorations of these new worlds in his artworks unearthed a new perspective and presents a swirl of sweet surprises through defining a sense of figure imbued with a tinge of minimalistic abstract.
